In June of 2017, Par Plumbing’s New Construction department, a division of The Par Group, started work on a new condo residence on the cusp of Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights. This building, One Clinton, located at 280 Cadman Plaza West, was designed by Marvel Architects and hosts 133 high-end homes with views of the lower Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor.
Hudson Companies bought the Brooklyn Heights library for $52 million in 2015 to build One Clinton. To honor the fact that it used to be a library, the base of the building will include a three-story library branch with two reading rooms along with two retail spaces and a 9,000 square foot STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lab operated by the Department of Education.
Par Plumbing projects include all pipework required for the high-end condos and the commercial library spaces at the base of the building. In addition, Par Plumbing will install everything from major equipment such as stormwater retention systems to domestic water heating units to all domestic water pumping equipment, and the domestic fire and water storage tanks on the roof. Par even installed the public space rooftop BBQ units.
The total building sellout, which includes four commercial units, is projected to be $477 million, making it one of the largest sellouts in Brooklyn’s history. The expected completion date of this project is August of 2019.
